(NOTE: The following piece is not an original poem. It is a collection
of scriptural statements that have helped me through difficult times. I
hope that all who read this will find it helpful.)
IN THE MIDST OF TROUBLE
Philippians 4:6-7
6 Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with
thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your
hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
I praise the Lord for Who He is and for what He has done and can do.
He made the heavens and the earth by His great power and stretched out
arm, and there is nothing too hard for Him(Jeremiah 32:17).
He is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think
(Ephesians 3:20).
He is not a man that He should lie. If He said it He will do it; if He
spoke it He will make it good (Numbers 23:19).
He loves His children with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3).
He made us intricately, and He knows us intimately (Psalm 139).
He does not forget His children; we are engraved on the palms of His
hands (Isaiah 49:15-16).
He will save His children when we are in the midst of trouble
(Psalm 138:7).
He has made the sinless Christ to be sin for us that in Christ we might be
made the righteousness of God (II Corinthians 5:21).
His eyes are over the righteous and his ears are open to our prayers
(Psalm 34:15; I Peter 3:12).
He is on the side of His children, and He takes our part with those who
help us (Psalm 118:6-7).
The battle is not ours, but God's (II Chronicles 20:15).
If He is for us, none can be against us (Romans 8:31-32).
Through our Lord, we can have the peace that passes understanding
(Philippians 4:6-7), the strength that is made perfect in weakness, and the
grace that is sufficient for every need (II Corinthians 12:9).
In our Lord, we have the peace of God which is our legacy from the
Lord Jesus Christ (John 14:27; 16:33).
