A HOLIDAY VISITOR

line
	On a holiday Sunday morning,
		Christmas or Easter,
A holiday visitor marks the special day
		With his presence in church.

	Judge not his motivation
	Nor criticize his rare visitation.

	Consider that family and friends,
Loved ones burdened with aching hearts,
May be crying out to the Father in prayer for him,
Indeed may long have been praying for him to know Christ.

	This church attendance, though rare,
May well be answer to prayer.

	Perhaps on this day,
		A passage of Scripture,
		A phrase in the sermon,
		A verse of a song,
		A testimony of a saint
		Will be a seed planted.

	Perhaps on another day
		A witness will water
		And nurture the fragile growth.

Then the harvest day will come,
And God Himself will give the increase,
And a new creature in Christ will be born.

So welcome the visitor, and keep in mind
That his holiday visit is of God's design.
