He created a beautiful work with His Hand.
Then He cut it in pieces and gave each a few
With instructions to strive to restore the work whole.
Each one must tend his portion, yet share labor, too.

They soon saw that no one held a section complete.
One might hold bits of treetops, another the sky,
And another might have scenes of darkness and stars
That would not fit with sunlight and birds flying high.

They called out to the Artist, "Your plan does not work!"
Their frustration grew stronger; they wanted to quit.
As their grumbling increased, the wise Artist replied,
"If you all work together, the pieces will fit."

Then one said to another, "Here's something you need."
One by one all joined efforts to work toward the goal.
When they finished the puzzle, they viewed it in awe.
All the parts formed together a beautiful whole.
