A STORY OF A CHRISTIAN WARRIOR

line

A Christian warrior bowed his head
To rest and pray awhile,
And in his solitude he sought
A peace both sweet and mild.

He spent some time in earnest prayer
For help along the way.
He asked God to renew in him
The strength for every day.

His prayers were done; he closed his eyes,
And soon he fell asleep.
Then in his dreams a voice he heard,
A voice strong, clear, and deep.

"There is no need for sighs, my son,
Nor for tears in your eyes.
Do you not know that you are mine?
Be joyful and arise!

"Come view the way before you now.
My Light will be your guide.
Ive won for you the victory
And calmed the raging tide.

"Through all your days upon this earth
When foes and storms assail,
Go forth, my son; you cannot lose.
My Spirit shall not fail!"

The warrior rose, joy in his heart,
New conquests to begin.
Then armed with faith he marched once more
To face the fight, to win!
