THE WITNESS

line

In praise to God, I lift my hands toward the sky.
You think me strange; I can see it in your eye.
You mock His Name, then you wonder that I cry.
Hes life to me; Ill tell you why.

The world had offered pretty promises for free,
But bound in chains, I searched in vain for liberty.
Then, in despair, I knew the world had cheated me.
My soul was dark; I could not see.

I stood confused in the byways of the land;
I was alone, forsaken by my fellowman.
I almost fainted with no ability to stand.
I called for help; He touched my hand.

I knelt in prayer, weeping for the dreams Id lost.
He heard my cries as I knelt at Calvarys cross.
He gave me beauty for the ashes of my loss.
I rose anew; I heard His Voice.

My soul took flight from the depths of misery
Straight to the One Who created victory.
In His Love, He wrought a miracle for me.
I live in joy; He made me free.

Now you know why I love Him as I do;
He gave me peace for the pain that Id been through.
He has the power to make your life anew;
Receive the love He offers you.

Your soul will fly from the depths of misery
Straight to the One Who can give you liberty.
In His Love, youll sing a song of victory.
Youll live in joy; Hell make you free.
