FOREVER HE LIVES

line

Three crosses stood on a skull-shaped hill.
The middle one bore Heaven's Light.
This Jesus, Savior, stooped to die,
And day sun was clothed with darkest night.

The Host of Heaven stood silent by;
No song was sung, no word was said.
Hell's demons danced and laughed to see
God's only Son, defeated, dead.

From Calvary's cross to a borrowed tomb
Jesus was borne by faithful men.
His enemies hoped that His death
Would mark His inglorious end.

But wait! Three days later came glad news
That the One Who loves and forgives
No longer is bound by the grave.
He is risen---Forever He lives!
